Atsushi Ono

Atsushi Ono, MD, PhD, is a Lecturer in the Department of Gastroenterology, Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Hiroshima University, Japan. He received his MD from Hiroshima University in 2005 and completed his PhD at Hiroshima University in 2015. Dr. Ono trained in gastroenterology and hepatology at Hiroshima University Hospital and Toranomon Hospital.
His research focuses on hepatocellular carcinoma, with particular interest in the tumor microenvironment and spatial transcriptomics approaches to identify biomarkers for immunotherapy and targeted therapies. He conducted research at Hiroshima University and later served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Hoshida Laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. His current work aims to advance precision medicine for liver cancer by integrating molecular and spatial profiling technologies.
